Air Blue Crash

 

Authorities engaged in the clean up and recovery of the Air Blue flight that crashed just outside Islamabad on Wednesday morning have reportedly been hampered in their effort by poor weather conditions. According to Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, 115 bodies had been recovered by Wednesday night. The site is reported to be a two-hour hike through mud from the nearest road, requiring rescue workers to haul body bags lashed between sticks carried on their shoulders. In what is being reported as the worst civil aviation accident in Pakistan’s history, a passenger jet crashed just outside Islamabad, on Wednesday, killing all 152 people on board. The crash occurred in the Margalla hills, in poor weather conditions, just before 9 a.m.  Rescue workers reportedly struggled through fire and mud in their search for survivors. Small Plane Crash Recovery Resumes

 

According to the Associated Press, recovery efforts are still underway in an effort to locate the remaining four people missing after a plane crashed into Lake Michigan after taking off from Alma, Michigan en route to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, on Friday morning. Small Plane Crashes en Route To Mayo Clinic

 

On Friday, a flight heading to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, crashed into Lake Michigan.  The plane, a 1971 single-engine Cessna 206, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), was carrying five people when it crashed. 26 Injured in Turbulent Flight Headed to LA

 

On Tuesday evening, United Airlines Flight 967 encountered severe turbulence over Kansas that, according to United spokesman Michael Trevino, injured 26 passengers.  Flight 967 was en route to Los Angeles from Dulles International Airport but diverted to Denver after the incident. Skokie Grandfather and Grandchildren Killed in Small Plane Crash

 

Late Tuesday afternoon 73-year-old Moshe Menora, of Skokie, reportedly crashed after experiencing troubles taking off near Mackinac Island.  According to reports, the plane crashed into the interstate killing Menora, along with three of his granddaughters, Sarah Klein, 17, Rebecca Menora, 16, and Rachel Menora, 14.  Natanial Menora, his 13-year-old grandson, survived but suffered severe burns.
