The investigation into the cause of the Irish plane crash is underway. According to the Corkman newspaper, Irish, British and Spanish air investigators are working together to find the cause of the plane crash. Along with the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder, investigators will look at radar records, air traffic control data, weather records, and the operation and condition of the aircraft, a Metroliner SW4. According to the Irish Times, MANX2 Airline, the company involved in yesterday’s plane crash at Cork Airport, is a “virtual airline.” MANX2 reportedly sells seats on their routes while other carriers operate the flights. According to the MANX2 website, their flights are operated by VanAir Europe, FLM Aviation, Flightlinebcn and Links Aviation. The co-pilot who died in the Cork airport crash yesterday (Thursday, Feb . 10, 2010) reportedly had started working with Manx2 airlines just two weeks ago. Andrew Cantle, 27, of northeast England died in the crash with the pilot, Jordi Lopez, a Spanish national, and four passengers. Investigators are at the scene of a Cork, Ireland plane crash looking into what caused an 18-seat turboprop to crash this morning (Thursday, Feb. 10, 2010) killing at least six people on board. Ten passengers and two crew members were on Flight BPS 7100 that was traveling from Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Cork in the Republic of Ireland. A Fairchild Metroliner SW4 turboprop, used for regional commuting, was the plane that crashed today (Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011) at Cork Airport in Ireland. Investigators have been dispatched from across western Europe to examine the wreckage as well as radar tapes, air traffic control tapes, and the condition and operation of the plane. A U.S.-made plane crashed in Cork, Ireland, earlier today, killing at least six people on board. Flight BPS 7100 crashed at 8:12 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 10, 2010) at Cork Airport reportedly after a third attempt to land on Runway 17.
