According to reports, a small, single-engine plane crashed into a park killing the three people aboard. The crash reportedly occurred in a Monroe, Michigan city park. The Associated Press reports that the plane, a Piper Malibu Mirage, was heading south and “skirted some trees” before crashing into a soccer field at the park. The crash of a Beechcraft King Air yesterday at the Long Beach airport reportedly caused the closure of two taxiways and one runway. Minutes after taking off, the plane reportedly circled back before crashing at the airfield. A Beechcraft King Air bound for Salt Lake City, Utah crashed yesterday near the runway at Long Beach Airport in Long Beach, California. Five men onboard the twin-turboprop aircraft at the time of the crash died, one man survived. There were no injuries on the ground. Federal investigators will reportedly visit Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport today looking into increased mistakes by air traffic controllers at that location. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data show 17 errors over a year, up from five during the previous year. These errors reportedly came during a period when new controllers, under the supervision of experienced controllers, have been training on live flights in the takeoff, landing and taxiing stages.
