Clifford Law Offices, a nationally renowned aviation law firm in Chicago, along with Wombles and Wadlington of Lexington, Kentucky, filed a Notice against the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Corporation and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board as well as a Complaint in the Commonwealth of Kentucky on behalf of a family who lost their mother in the Comair crash Sunday. A motion for a Protective Order also was filed to preserve all evidence.
The importance of filing the notice Friday, Sept. 1, is a state statute that arguably could apply to this action requiring that notice of any potential claims against the Lexington Airport be filed WITHIN SEVEN DAYS of the event. Additionally, the purpose of filing the lawsuit against Comair is to ask the court to preserve all of the evidence involved in the tragic crash that killed 49 of the 50 people aboard.
Clifford Law Offices along with co-counsel Bobby Wombles and Chad Wadlington have been retained by Joshua Isaac Adams, administrator of the estate of his mother, Rebecca Adams, 47, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, who died in the crash of Flight 5191. She was on a business trip on behalf of her employer, Intergraph, Inc., where she worked as a Senior Project Manager, being responsible for software design and integration between 911 call centers and police departments. She left three adult children including Joshua, 23, Christopher Michael, 24, and Lauren Marie, 21. She also is survived by her parents, Leo and Jessie Bulson, and her brother, William Bulson.
“Joshua is a brave individual to come forward and take this action on behalf of his family. He really is helping all of the victims get direct answers to some very difficult questions,” Clifford said in filing the matter. “With the deadline, we needed to take all steps to ensure that we preserve the rights of the family of Rebecca Adams.”
The lawsuit alleges numerous misconduct charges of negligence against Comair, Inc.; it also names Comair Aircraft, Inc. and Comair Services, Inc., Kentucky corporations.
Robert A. Clifford of Clifford Law Offices, Chicago, Illinois, and Bobby Wombles and Chad Wadlington of Wombles and Wadlington, Lexington, Kentucky, at 12:30 p.m. Friday held a press conference at the Law Offices of Wombles & Wadlington, 1st Floor Conference Room, 200 Vine St., Lexington, KY. Members of the Adams family were present and made a statement to the press.
