Sean P. Driscoll

Associate

Sean's legal acumen was demonstrated in a high-stakes trial on which he worked with Robert Clifford.  In October, 2006, Sean worked side by side with Mr. Clifford on a case in Cook County Circuit Court which resulted in a $15.8 million verdict.  Clifford Law Offices represented an 18-year-old teenager who was left permanently brain damaged after being struck by a YMCA van in a south suburb of Chicago.  The case initially was tried by another law firm and a jury reached a not guilty verdict.  The trial judge reversed that decision based upon the misconduct of the defense counsel in that initial trial.  Clifford Law Offices was then brought into the case and Mr. Driscoll worked nearly round-the-clock for weeks preparing the case for re-trial.  Following a two-week trial in which Mr. Driscoll participated in every phase, the jury returned a verdict on behalf of the young woman.

Sean is working on a variety of cases including the derailment of a CTA Blue Line that injured 20 people, a worker injured during a chemical explosion at a plant in Indiana, a speeding car that rear-ended the vehicle of a 78-year-old man that rendered him a paraplegic, a woman severely injured in a boating accident on the Illinois canal, a fisherman killed in a small plane that crashed heading to Canada and numerous complex construction liability cases.  He handles each case with thoughtfulness and thoroughness.

Before joining Clifford Law Offices, Sean clerked for Judge Michael J. Murphy, Presiding Judge of the County Division in Cook County. He also has worked as the Deputy Finance Director for Congresswoman Melissa Bean in her run for Congress. Sean also has worked for United States Senator Dick Durbin in his Washington, D.C. office, drafting letters to constituents on pertinent issues impacting Illinoisans as well as statements for the Senator for the Congressional Record.

Sean attended the University of Dayton where he studied Communications and Political Science, graduating cum laude. He went on to DePaul University College of Law where he was elected Vice President of the Student Bar Association of the Evening Division. He was a Moot Court Society Member and a finalist in the Client Counseling Competition. Besides the honor of making the Dean’s List, Sean was the CALI winner for Legal Writing, achieving the highest grade in the class. He also was the recipient of the Jack Madson Graduate Scholarship as well as a recipient of the DePaul University Faculty and Staff Endowment Scholarship.

Clifford Law Offices is proud Sean Driscoll is an associate at the firm.
